I looked up a recipe. Hmmm. Not simple enough. I had about 60% of the ingredients and 0% of the patience. So I took a gamble.
I brewed espresso directly onto a plate, added two cubes of sugar (I have no idea why, actually), a shot of vodka and a hit of vanilla extract. I dipped 6 lady fingers into the mixture, lined the bottom of a takeout container like the hooligan that I am, covered that with a nice layer of whatever whipped cream remained in the can in the fridge, and repeated. Then, because I actually have some cocoa powder (YES!), I sprinkled it on top...
... and wow. What the hell. It's awesome. It's not a gorgeous cake shape, but this took a grand total of 4 minutes to assemble, and it's a pretty decent substitute for tiramisu. Jamie Oliver would be so proud of me, all messy and mad scientist and stuff. Yum.
